Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and commitment to strengthening South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) products and services throughout an engagement while using the company's senior supervisors at a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric final exams.
In the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% of your registered pupils inside the schooling sector.
These learners accomplished a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the expense national government is creating from the lives of very poor and vulnerable young children is yielding a favourable impact in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
